Tech Volunteer Days
How it works
- Technology professionals from your company sign up to volunteer and perform Stable and Secure Assessments at local nonprofit organizations.
- Your volunteers get oriented, get trained, and go out and perform a service for nonprofits in need. The goal for this year is to work with over 75 nonprofit organizations in need of technical assistance.
How you can help…
§ Allow your company’s IT Professionals to participate in our Tech Volunteer Days by offering their expertise to the help the larger community.
§ Provide a contact person from your company to assist with recruiting tech volunteers and assist with communication.
what skills are needed to be a volunteer?
Volunteers should be IT professionals familiar with Windows 2000/XP, adding/removing programs and using Windows Explorer and Task Manager. (Mac based platforms are excluded).
a Typical Tech Volunteer Day…
10:00am- 10:30am Arrive and register at an orientation session
10:30am-11:30am Receive orientation and training
11:30am-12:00pm Q &A
12:00pm-1:30pm Travel to assignment(s) working in teams of 2 or more
1:30pm-4:30pm Perform Stable and Secure Assessments at assigned nonprofit organizations; (should take approximately 2-3 hours)

Tech Volunteer Day is free and open to small and mid-sized nonprofit organizations in the Philadelphia region including: food banks, domestic violence shelters, parks and environmental groups, homeless shelters, arts and culture groups, etc. If you have a specific nonprofit that your company would like to be assigned to or a nonprofit you would like to recruit to participate in this event, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
