The Judge Group Makes a Big Commitment to Philadelphia’s Nonprofit Community
Nonprofits are among our region’s most precious assets, especially given the current economy. They provide food to the hungry, shelter to those without, healthcare for the infirm, and countless other societal benefits. Despite their importance, many nonprofits go without the basic technology they need to do business because of a lack of funds and available help.
The Judge Group, a Conshohocken based professional services firm is taking steps to rectify this inequity. They have pledged $25,000 to NPower Pennsylvania (NPower PA), a nonprofit whose mission is to ensure all nonprofits can use technology to better serve our community.
NPower PA helps charities in the greater Philadelphia region leverage their valuable resources and make effective use of technology in their day-to-day operations. NPower makes changes that allow nonprofits to help more people and increase the reach of their programs, all while significantly reducing their costs.
The Judge Group’s support could not have come at a better time; NPower PA is getting more requests for its services this year than in the past. Economic conditions are increasingly straining nonprofits as more out-of-work families need help and, at the same time, decreasing donations mean that nonprofits have to do more with less.
The Judge Group made its pledge as part of NPower Pennsylvania's Nonprofit Technology Awards Luncheon. The event on October 16th, 2009 will bring together individuals and corporations who are committed to sustaining and improving nonprofit organizations in our community. It is the region’s premiere event for technology executives who care about the nonprofit sector and want to make an impact. Last year, over 425 leaders from the greater Philadelphia's business community were in attendance.
The event is not solely a fundraiser, but an awareness raiser. The Judge Group and NPower PA hope to draw attention to the needs of nonprofits in our community during this downturn and raise over $250,000 to support them.
